There are several ways you can volunteer with Intermountain Therapy Animals if you do not have a companion animal with whom to team up for therapy visiting.

Our most popular opportunity for volunteering is to be a team testing assistant. We test potential teams in our Prescreen Interviews and our Evaluations, and we need a sizeable “cast of characters” to help us conduct these screening tests. This is also a great way to get to know others and to learn about the test and what is required if you and your animal are considering becoming a team yourselves.

In addition, we welcome volunteer escorts who accompany pet/handler teams to nursing homes and assisted living homes. Escorts can help with equipment, chat with residents, share the pets’ photo albums, and in other ways enhance the visit.

Our program documents community service hours for students, Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts, and other volunteer programs.

We would like to thank our Corporate Sponsors for their continued support.
